Jigsaws

Jigsaws

In April 2025 I started sharing my love of jigsaws on a new YouTube channel. This is a new venture for me and a steep learning curve. I've tried a few other YouTube launches in the past, but it's really hard to find the right niche - it has to be something people want to watch, something which I am consistently interested in, something which I have plenty to talk about, and something which I'm able to churn out regularly and sustain long term.

I also need to work out how to differentiate my jigsaw videos from the others on YouTube - it's early days and I'm still feeling my way. The things I talk about are bound to consolidate and develop over time. There are a lot of 'speed-puzzling' jigsaw channels on YouTube (yup, that's a thing) but that's definitely not what I'm about. There's also a lot to learn about video editing, equipment, and what people want to see, for example, I'd never filmed timelapses before this month!

I'm a sucker for a rabbit hole of research, so I will probably include plenty of history in my videos. This fits well with the fact that I prefer nostalgia, heritage, coast, canal, countryside, and vintage jigsaws.

So here are my first three videos - please like and subscribe if you'd like to see more! It's hard to get a new channel started - likes are not particularly significant, it's watching all the way to the end of a video and subscribing which are most helpful to new YouTubers because these actions have a big impact on YouTube's algorithms.

I don't plan to share every new video on my Canalside Homes website or spam my subscribers with posts about them. Rest assured this is a one-off. If you want to follow my jigsaw adventures, subscribing on YouTube is the way to go!

Thank you, Sheridan
